Retirement? Busier Than Ever!

A month and a half after retiring from my formal job, everyone asks me, “How have you been?” And my answer is always the same: busier than ever!

I believe that after retirement, we have a tendency to start fixing everything around the house. Every drawer you open suddenly needs to be organized. Every corner you look at needs to be cleaned, rearranged, or given a little facelift—even when your house is already very clean and quite organized!

But in my case, I have another commitment: replacing my old website with a new one on Shopify.

This project has taken many long hours of my days. Importing products, adding photos, rewriting blogs, reviewing categories, prices, labels, and so much more… all for 370 products and 80 blogs!

At this point, I can tell you that creating a website with my old provider, Wix, is so simple that I think a fifth grader could probably do it by themselves! Shopify, on the other hand, requires much more specialization, patience, and knowledge.

Thank God for AI!

AI is now embedded into Shopify, and without its help, I probably would never have been able to accomplish all of this in just a month and 20 days. There were definitely moments when I wondered what I had gotten myself into!

The good news is that I am almost there! If everything goes as planned, on Saturday I should finally be able to launch my new website—and I am very excited about it.

And what comes next?

Well, my days will probably be just as busy as they are now, filled with trips, taking care of the house, and, of course, my jewelry. Not only making the jewelry, but also photographing it, adding it to my website, writing about it, and sharing it on social media.

So, apparently, retirement didn’t exactly mean slowing down for me, but I love it.
